We are honored to be able to provide some Sign Union Flag merch to shoppers in the U.S. The Sign Union flag was created by Arnaud Balard, French DeafBlind artist, in 2013 after studying vexillology for two years. The World Federation of the Deaf selected this flag to become the official representation of Signing people across the globe in 2023.
The flag features an open hand in turquoise (representing our signing communities), outlined with a yellow hand (signifying hope and enlightenment and protactile sign language), with a dark blue background (symbolizing Deafhood and our global collective humanity).
